Breaking Up With Channel Partners Is Hard to Do

We often get asked "how do I tell my good channel partners that they're no longer authorized to sell my products on Amazon?"
This is a breakup conversation we've navigated many times. Here's a few helpful tips:
(1) Advance notice - likely the sooner the better, so they have time to alter their purchasing habits accordingly.
(2) Use the numbers - often times showing them how little revenue they're actually getting from Amazon sales helps them understand it isn't as "important" of a channel as they originally thought.
(3) Avoid over-explaining the reasons behind the change - fight the desire to give numerous reasons as to the decision, as this may invite undesired dialogues.
